Cricket

During the first weeks of school Room 1 has been receiving some cricket coaching lessons.  We have been learning to throwing (underarm), catching and batting skills.  We are starting to learn how to play some adapted games of cricket.

Back to School

Getting Arty

Room 1 has been inspired by Gustav Klimt's Tree of Life. This is work in progress. Some of us are learning that to paint takes a lot of focus and perseverance. Here's Jeremy hard at work.

How Do Bees Carry Pollen From One Flower To The Next?

How Much Is 1,500?

Today we learnt that a queen bee lays 1,500 eggs a day?  So that made us think.  How much is 1,500?  We used popsicle sticks to show how much 1,500 is.  We grouped the sticks in 10's and then cunted in 100's all the way until 1,500.  We learnt that we had to be careful not to say ten hundred but say one thousand.

This afternoon we are making changes to our dormant (alive but resting) tree.  We will be making some flowers, buds and leaves.
